Dorcas Lane is on course to continue her surprisingly promising season in Royal Ascot’s Ribblesdale Stakes.

Lucy Wadham’s original intention was to start the filly off in three-year-old hurdles in France but she won at the first attempt on the Flat at Lingfield in January and continued her good form into handicaps.

Stepped up to Listed level for the Pretty Polly Stakes at the Newmarket Guineas meeting, Dorcas Lane proved her worth with a two-length victory.

“She has come out of the race brilliantly and I think we’ll go straight for the Ribblesdale,” said Wadham.
