Powell plans Shoreacre for Annual Chase
Shoreacres is being primed for a crack at the Johnny Henderson Grand Annual Chase Challenge Cup at Cheltenham following his emphatic win at Taunton two weeks ago.
Trainer Brendan Powell is eyeing the two-mile handicap chase for the eight-year-old, who got off the mark over fences with a 28-length romp over Qozak in a novice contest.
“Shoreacres will go for the Grand Annual – he will have come on a lot for his win at Taunton the other day,” said Powell, who plans to have at least one other runner, Massini Man, in the Kim Muir Challenge Cup at jump racing’s premier fixture.
“Massini Man has won his last three and deserves his chance in the Kim Muir. Those two will definitely go.
“I’m not sure about whether the filly Two Kisses will run in the Fred Winter, and I think Pullyourfingerout will wait for Aintree and Punchestown.”
