Rasen call morning check

Officials at Market Rasen have called a 7.30am inspection ahead of Sunday’s meeting.

Clerk of the course Sulekha Varma reports some areas of the track to be frozen and those patches are causing concern.

She said: “There are a few areas of the track that are still frozen and proving a bit stubborn, it’s not the whole track.

“We are forecast 3C today and I would ideally like it to get a bit higher than that but it’s a bit overcast, which is good news, and we have had a bit of rain.

“It’s not forecast to drop lower than 2C overnight with a maximum of 6C tomorrow so we will have a look in the morning.”
