Bolger in no rush with Siorrac

An Siorrac has started a slow build-up back to fitness and could even return to the track some time in April.

Trainer Enda Bolger has ruled out options like the Christie’s Foxhunter Chase at the Cheltenham Festival – for which he was a leading fancy – for a gelding who has won all his three starts in impressive fashion.

The first two came in point-to-points at Dromahane before he landed a hunter chase at Fairyhouse in February 2009 by 30 lengths.

Bolger said: “It all depends on the ground, but he won’t be ready for another two months.

“He got a bit of heat in a leg and needed a year off and he hasn’t been back with me for long.

“It’s not the ideal time to be starting off with a horse and he won’t be going to Cheltenham or anything, but hopefully we can find something in April time.

“He’s a pleasure to have, and he looks very well.”
