Tom Scudamore will miss the ride on Madison du Berlais in Saturday’s rearranged William Hill King George VI Chase at Kempton.

David Pipe’s stable jockey picked up a kidney injury when he was unseated from Far From Serious at Sandown at the weekend.

He went on to have two further rides but X-rays later showed a tear in a kidney which will keep him out of action for two weeks.

“Sadly, Tom Scudamore will miss Saturday’s King George VI Chase, in which he was due to ride Madison Du Berlais, after injuring a kidney at Sandown at the weekend. We wish him a speedy recovery,” said Pipe.

“For the next fortnight we will use our strong in-house team of jockeys.

“A decision regarding Madison Du Berlais will be made later in the week, when the owners return from holiday.”
