Peut is perfect for Pipe

Peut Etre Sivola stayed on dourly to record back-to-back victories in the totesuper7 Southern National Handicap Chase at Fontwell today.

Heavy ground made this three-and-a-half-mile contest a real test of stamina which played to the strengths of David Pipe's charge.

Pass Me By and Runshan did the donkey work up front for most of the race while Johnny Farrelly bided his time on the 3-1 favourite.

All the better for a pipe-opener 17 days previously, Peut Etre Sivola came right into contention on the final circuit at the West Sussex track.

Taking it up from Runshan, Peut Etre Sivola pulled clear to win by six lengths from Kawagino with Pass Me By third and Runshan weakening into fourth spot.
