Thursday return for Queally
Tom Queally has been forced to take a few days off after he was unshipped in the paddock at Goodwood on Sunday.
Queally was due to ride George Baker’s Certral in the Bet At Bluesq.com Median Auction Maiden Stakes but the filly got loose and had to be withdrawn.
The jockey has been replaced on all of his booked rides at Salisbury on Monday and Leicester on Tuesday.
Queally has some choice rides at Newmarket on Saturday, including Henry Cecil’s much-vaunted Frankel in the Dewhurst and Twice Over, bidding for a repeat win in the Champion Stakes.
“He got thrown off in the paddock and as a precaution he’s going to take a few days off,” said Queally’s agent, Keith Bradley.
“He’s going to get checked out with the importance of the weekend – but he will be riding on Thursday.
“When you’ve got a head injury involved you’ve got to be ultra-cautious but he had a helmet on so there’s no problem.
“You’ve just got to be cautious and safety is paramount.”
