Sans set for Melbourne
Sans Frontieres remains firmly on course for the Melbourne Cup on November 2.
Barry Simpson, racing manager for owner Sir Robert Ogden, reported that everything was going to plan with the rejuvenated colt ahead of the valuable Flemington handicap.
The four-year-old, trained by Jeremy Noseda, heads for Australia’s premier prize on a roll, having recently completed a hat-trick of victories in the Irish Field St Leger at the Curragh.
“He’s absolutely fine and he has quarantined well,” said Simpson.
Sans Frontieres, also a winner of the Geoffrey Freer Stakes and the Princess of Wales’s Stakes this season, is a general 12-1 chance to land the Melbourne Cup.
