Longchamp on Fairy radar

Snow Fairy could head to France next month following her honourable display in the Ladbrokes St Leger.

Ed Dunlop’s dual Oaks winner failed to stay the stamina-sapping trip of the Doncaster Classic, but nonetheless shaped with much credit to take fourth behind Arctic Cosmos.

She is now under consideration to drop back in trip on Arc weekend at Longchamp.

Dunlop said: “She ran a great race and was probably about the last horse to come off the bridle – she just didn’t stay.

“We may go to the Prix de l’Opera at Longchamp on Arc weekend.

“It means dropping back half a mile in trip, but the way she travelled in the race was fantastic until her stamina ran out.

“All credit to the winner, it was a great performance, but I was pleased with our filly.”

Arctic Cosmos is reported in top shape after winning the world's oldest Classic for the John Gosden team.

“Everything’s fine. He’s ate up – no problems and all is well,” said a spokesman for the Newmarket stable.

“The horse has come out of the race very well. It was a great day and everybody’s happy.”l
