Geordieland heads straight to Ascot

Geordieland is likely to make his first appearance of the season back in the Gold Cup at Royal Ascot.

Jamie Osborne's remarkable stayer finished second to Yeats in the Group One in 2007 and 2008 and third to the Ballydoyle legend last year.

He rounded off the campaign by filling the same position behind Askar Tau in the Doncaster Cup.

"He will go first time out to Ascot, all being well," said Osborne.
