Diamond sparkler for Creighton
Edward Creighton sent out his first winner since moving to his new Kent base as 5-2 joint-favourite Diamond Johnny G obliged in the Hythe Maiden Stakes at Folkestone.
Creighton had suffered a 176-day losing spell during which he upped sticks from Mill Hill in London and relocated to nearby Sittingbourne.
Diamond Johnny G was an appropriate winner for his new yard as the three-year-old colt scored on his ninth outing with a head defeat of Fine Silk.
Creighton explained: "I am delighted and it is great he has won as I put him forward as one to follow at our stable open day recently.
"He is coming along nicely and has been beaten by good horses the last twice.
"He is improving, picked up well and fought when the other horse came to him."
