Hughes duo target Irish National
Dessie Hughes could have two runners in the Powers Whiskey Irish Grand National at Fairyhouse on Monday week.
The County Kildare trainer is eyeing the valuable handicap chase for seasoned campaigner Siegemaster and for the novice Montero.
“Siegemaster is in good form and all set for Fairyhouse,” said Hughes.
“Montero won three race on good ground in the summer and I think he could go well, too.”
Siegemaster, a top-priced 16-1, currently has 11st 3lb to carry, while 33-1 shot Montero is on 10st 6lb.
