Dunguib’s pursuit of Cheltenham glory went up in smoke as Menorah claimed a pulsating renewal of the Spinal Research Supreme Novices’ Hurdle – the first race of the 2010 Cheltenham Festival.

Philip Fenton’s seven-year-old, a hugely impressive winner of last season’s Champion Bumper, was sent off the 4-5 favourite to maintain his unbeaten record over obstacles.
