This evening’s meeting at Wolverhampton is subject to a further inspection at 10am.

Clerk of the course Fergus Cameron called a first check for 8am after two and a half inches of overnight snow fell in the area.

While the access roads are all clear and work is ongoing to clear areas around the track, the surface itself is still not quite raceable at present.

“We are fairly hopeful,” said Cameron.

“The temperature is hovering around zero and it is probably a fraction colder than it was at 6am this morning. The sun is trying to fight its way through though.

“There are still a few lumps of snow in the track but they should go if the temperature rises. It is due to get to 4C and if it does we should have no problems.”
