Huntingdon hopes are slim
Prospects for Huntingdon’s meeting on Thursday are described as “pretty bleak” with an inspection scheduled for 2pm tomorrow.
The course is frozen in places and sub-zero temperatures are forecast over the next few nights with daytime highs barely above freezing.
“We were minus seven last night and this lunchtime we are only minus two. Prospects look pretty bleak,” said clerk of the course Andrew Morris.
“We have a frost tonight of minus three but then the frosts increase towards Thursday going down to minus six and seven. Daytime temperatures getting up to plus one at the very most.
“We are frozen in places and if the forecast is correct there’s not a lot of hope.”
