Today’s hurdling and bumper action at Limerick has been given the go-ahead - but the two chase races have been abandoned.

Sub-zero overnight temperatures meant an 8am inspection was required, from which the outcome was generally positive.

The chase course, due to stage the final two heats of the day, became, however, a victim of frost.

Irish Turf Club press officer Cliff Noone said: “The chase track has failed to thaw so they’ve pulled the plug on those two races.

“Instead it is a five-race programme, with racing still set to start at 12.35pm.”
