O'Regan on the sidelines

Denis O’Regan will have to spend a few weeks on the sidelines after breaking his collarbone in a fall at Aintree yesterday.

The jockey suffered the injury when parting company with Astarador in the Radio City 96.7 Handicap Chase .

Although he will now miss out on some big rides as the National Hunt seasons warms up, O’Regan remains upbeat.

“I’ve broken my collarbone so we’ll have to give it three weeks and see where we are,” said O’Regan.

“It’s disappointing, but we’ll just keep going forward and I’ve had a good run of things up to now.

“Hopefully I’ll soon be back on the road again.”
