Plan preparing for seasonal bow

Grade One-winning novice chaser Follow The Plan has just returned to training for the forthcoming winter campaign.

Oliver McKiernan’s gelding upset Tatanen in the Durkan New Homes Novice Chase last Christmas before failing to repeat such a performance in both the Arkle and the Irish version.

McKiernan said: “He has only been back in a couple of weeks so we will tip away with him for the time being and hopefully have him back for November or so.

“He probably did not run as well as we thought he would at Cheltenham but he ran into difficulties and did not get much luck. The race took its toll too, so we gave him plenty of time off.

“I’m not quite sure where we’ll start off. We’ll look at both handicaps and bigger races.”
