Precautionary inspection called at Worcester

Officials at Worcester have called a precautionary inspection for 7.30am ahead of tomorrow's meeting due to the threat of rain.

Clerk of the course Fergus Cameron reports the track to be good to go at present but is a little concerned by the forecast rain to come.

"We have had a couple of dry days and we are raceable at the moment but we felt it best to a call a precautionary check in view of the forecast," he said.

"The weather forecasters are predicting up to 18 millimetres of rain this evening and overnight so we thought it appropriate to let people know.

"We have had 33mm in the last eight days and nine and a half inches over the last eight weeks so it is a cumulative effect really."
