Oaks hopefuls primed for York
Three of the leading contenders in the betting for the Investec Oaks are set to clash at York on Wednesday in the Tattersalls Musidora Stakes.
Sariska, Enticement and High Heeled have been declared among a field of six for the Group Three race, although connections of the latter have warned she will only run if the ground is suitable.
In a particularly cloudy market for Epsom, all three are in single figures with some bookmakers, only behind Rainbow View and Saturday’s Lingfield Oaks Trial winner Midday.
Midday was fourth behind Michael Stoute and the Queen’s unbeaten Enticement in her most recent start at Newmarket last November, where the 1000 Guineas-placed Super Sleuth was beaten a short-head.
The Michael Bell-trained Sariska was fourth in the Fred Darling at Newbury but caught the eye with her run, while High Heeled, for the in-form Barry Hills, beat a most useful field of colts in a conditions event at the same meeting.
Peter Chapple-Hyam’s Star Ruby may be another of interest after making a winning debut at Sandown while Pachattack and probable rank outsider Dancing Wave complete the line-up.
