Ghanaati a shock winner of 1000 Guineas

Ghanaati was a shock 20-1 winner of the stanjames.com 1000 Guineas at Newmarket as hot favourite Rainbow View lost her unbeaten record.

The Giant’s Causeway filly, trained by Barry Hills and ridden by his son Richard, was always handy and kicked on a furlong out to win by a length and a half.

Jim Bolger’s Cuis Ghaire (12-1) was second with Super Sleuth (33-1), trained by Brian Meehan, a length and a quarter away third.
