War of Attrition withdrawn from Grand National

War of Attrition, who would have been one of Ireland's main hopes for Saturday's Grand National at Aintree, has been pulled out of the race.

Trainer Mouse Morris has decided not to send the horse to Liverpool after confirming he is not entirely happy with the 10-year-old's fitness.

The stable will still have a major chance in the race in the guise of Hear the Echo - last year's Irish National winner at Fairyhouse.

Davy Russell, who had been due to ride War Of Attrition, now takes over on Hear the Echo.
