Nicholls ace heads Donny field
Andreas has been left at the head of the weights for the Williamhill.com Handicap Chase at Doncaster on Saturday following the confirmation stage.
The nine-year-old is one of three possibles for champion trainer Paul Nicholls with I’msingingtheblues and Medicinal both on the list.
Howard Johnson has entered both Santa’s Son and Locksmith, while fellow northern trainer Ferdy Murphy has three possibles in Three Mirrors, Tidal Fury and Beggars Cap.
The Colm Murphy-trained Clew Bay Cove and Arthur Moore’s In Technicolor could both make the journey from Ireland although the latter would need the top-weight to come out before being considered to run.
“I left him in to see if there was a chance of getting in the weights as if one or two of the top ones came out he might creep in,” said Moore.
“Andreas is still in there and he would need to come out for me to consider running to be honest.
“We’re just hoping for a bit of decent ground for him really and I know it maybe wasn’t last weekend but it is normally good at Doncaster.
“We just thought if he did sneak in the weights it was worth having a crack as it’s a good pot.”
