Razor Royale, an unlucky faller on his chasing debut at Cheltenham last month, bids for compensation in the Steel Plate And Sections Novices’ Chase back at Prestbury Park tomorrow.

Rated not far behind the leading novice hurdlers last season, Nigel Twiston-Davies’ six-year-old has always looked a chaser in the making.

He was in the process of running a big race against Ring The Boss but unfortunately clipped the second-last fence and came down.

“It was very unfortunate that he fell first time over fences but he ran some very nice races last season,” said Twiston-Davies.

“He’s always looked like he wanted fences though and he really is a lovely horse.

“He’s got the size and scope to make a chaser and it looks a nice little race for him.”

Razor Royale comes up against Paul Nicholls’ Herecomesthetruth, an easy winner of his chasing debut at Chester but rated some way below the Twiston-Davies horse over hurdles.
