Freedom leads Solario charge

Six unbeaten colts, including dual winner Cry Of Freedom, figure among an 11-strong field for Saturday’s betinternet.com Solario Stakes at Sandown.

Mark Johnston’s charge made a successful debut over the course and distance before picking up a Listed contest at Newbury two weeks ago.

The Cheka, trained by Eve Johnson Houghton, made a big impression at Ascot on his racecourse bow when scooting up by 10 lengths while Jeremy Noseda’s Parisian Art, the Andrew Balding-trained Prince Siegfried and Sri Putra from Michael Jarvis’s stable have all won their first starts in good style.

Patrician’s Glory is the other horse with a 100% record after getting off the mark at Newbury six weeks ago as a 25-1 outsider.

However, his trainer Jane Chapple-Hyam is slightly concerned about stall two for her runner, who would have run in the Acomb Stakes last week had York not been abandoned.

Parisian Art, Prince Siegfried and The Cheka were other Acomb entries to have been re-routed to the Esher course for this Group Three contest.

“He’s in very good order. He was ready to go to York so we’ve just had to hold on to him for another week and I’m happy with him,” said the Lambourn trainer.

“I haven’t got a great draw (two), but I’m sure Mr Egan will overcome that.”

All 11 are previous winners with Sylvester Kirk’s Talking Hands successful three times, although he did disappoint at Ripon on Monday.
