Late decision for Morrison
Hughie Morrison could wait until the last minute before deciding whether to run Sakhee's Secret in the Uplands Racing Hackwood Stakes at Newbury on Saturday.
The East Ilsley trainer wants to be happy with the horse's condition and the state of the ground before making a final decision on the participation of last year's July Cup hero in the Group Three sprint.
"I probably won't make a decision until the day. I've entered him and it's a 50-50 decision," said Morrison.
"One of the issues is that there's nothing for the horse to go for. There are few six-furlong races in the calendar, they have suddenly disappeared.
"Because he hasn't won a Group One since last year he can get into one or two conditions races but there are fewer of those around.
"He seems fine but one or two of mine haven't run as well as I'd have hoped, mostly because of the ground, and when that happens you become a bit careful."
Sakhee's Secret, who remains a possible for the Coolmore Nunthorpe Stakes over five furlongs at York next month, finished last in the Golden Jubilee Stakes at Royal Ascot on his latest start.
