Hogmaneigh resting up

Stuart Williams’ popular sprinter Hogmaneigh is on the easy list for a little while after his run at Epsom on Derby Day.

The five-year-old was well-fancied to retain the totesport.com “Dash” and although he came with his traditionally fast finish, he could only manage fourth spot behind Holbeck Ghyll.

After returning with a minor hiccup, Williams will now bide his time before bringing Hogmaneigh back to the track.

“He just came back a bit sore after Epsom so there are no plans at the moment,” said Williams.

“The ground had just dried out on the day, otherwise he could have been closer.”
