Andrew Kinsella is counting on his stable’s upturn in fortunes to help Rock Of Rochelle fare better at Leopardstown on Wednesday.

The young Curragh trainer won a Listed race at his local track last season with his colt before saddling him for seventh in the Group One Middle Park Stakes.

Rock Of Rochelle was only sixth on his return back at the Curragh in April and has his second start in the Group Three Ballycorus Stakes.

“We had a slow start to the year with viruses and a lot of the horses were just not getting home,” said Kinsella.

“However, they are looking like they’re coming back to form now as I ran a couple at Navan last week and one got the rough end of a photo to be second and another just lost out for third.

“The ground was too firm to work at the Curragh so I took the horse for a racecourse gallop at Leopardstown last week to get a feel of the grass again.

“He worked very well and I feel he can give a good account of himself on Wednesday.”
