Tiepy out of Irish National
Pomme Tiepy has been ruled out of the Powers Whiskey Irish Grand National at Fairyhouse on Monday.
The Willie Mullins-trained five-year-old, who fell in the Royal & SunAlliance Chase at Cheltenham, was prominent in the betting for the three-mile-five-furlong test.
However, the County Carlow trainer elected to pull her out of the race as he was not entirely satisfied with a scope that was conducted on Friday.
“I wasn’t 100% happy after we scoped Pomme Tiepy on Friday morning, so she will have to miss the Irish National,” Mullins told www.racingpost.co.uk.
Ruby Walsh, who was due to ride Pomme Tiepy, is now set to replace Robbie Power on Alexander Taipan, while Mullins’ other runner, Homer Wells, is the mount of Davy Condon.
