Tomorrow’s meeting at Gowran, set to feature to long-awaited comeback of Tom Taaffe’s Kicking King, will need to pass an 8am inspection.

Course officials took a look at the track this morning and were perfectly happy with conditions but in light of the recent weather they thought it prudent to check again tomorrow.

“Everything is A1 today,” said Cliff Noone of the Irish Turf Club.

“It is perfectly raceable at present but the going is heavy.

“They have decided to have another look at 8am in the morning though because of the weather we have been having lately.

“Some showers are forecast but it is better to be safe than sorry.”

As well as the return of Kicking King in the Normans Grove Chase the valuable Thyestes Chase is also set to take place.
