US Ranger produced a winning debut for Aidan O’Brien in the Waterford Testimonial Stakes at the Curragh.

Formerly with Jean-Claude Rouget, the three-year-old Danzig colt enjoyed the perfect start for Ballydoyle with an easy Listed success.

Kieren Fallon brought the even-money favourite, runner-up in the Jersey Stakes on his last start, down the centre of the course and hit the front at the furlong post.

The rest of the six-furlong heat turned into a procession as Fallon’s mount eased to a three-and-a-half-length call from Senor Benny.

Fallon said: “He’s a big baby and is still learning.

“He’ll be lovely horse for next year.”
