Best still to come from Mac - Fallon

Kieren Fallon expects Macarthur to come into his own next year if the Coolmore operation opt to keep the well-bred colt in training as a four-year-old.

Kieren Fallon expects Macarthur to come into his own next year if the Coolmore operation opt to keep the well-bred colt in training as a four-year-old.

The full-brother to 2005 Epsom Derby hero Motivator endured a luckless run under Christophe Soumillon in the Ladbrokes St Leger at Doncaster, where he would almost certainly have gone much closer than sixth with a clear passage.

“I rode him two weeks ago and I thought he’d win the Leger, but he was in trouble in behind and he was an unlucky loser,” Fallon told At The Races.

“He’s going to be a good horse if he stays in training. I don’t know what the plans are yet, but he feels like the type who would do much better next year.

“He’s a nice colt and he’s got a big future if he stays in training.”
