Hifive floors Haydock punters

Brasingaman Hifive stunned punters with a 100-1 debut success in division two of the EBF Median Auction Maiden Stakes at Haydock.

The Geraldine Rees-trained filly hit the front well inside the final furlong and won by a length in the hands of Graham Gibbons.

Bonny Rose, the 7-4 favourite, was second and All The Aces was half a length back in third.

Tote punters fared better than starting-price backers as Brasingaman Hifive paid £120.20 to a £1 stake.

Rees told Racing UK: “She’s been a filly that has taken a long time to come to.

“But she’s always been a very fluid mover and is the owners’ first runner in their colours, to they are delighted.”
