Darjina team waits on ground
Ground conditions will determine where Darjina makes her next racecourse appearance following her victory in the Prix d’Astarte.
The filly was winning for the fourth time in five starts when taking the Group One at Deauville last month.
Connections are now toying between the Coolmore Fusaichi Pegasus Matron Stakes at Leopardstown on September 8 or the Qatar Prix du Moulin at Longchamp a day later.
“We have to decide between the Moulin and the Matron. It depends on the ground. We need good ground not soft. Good to firm would be OK but she does not like it soft,” trainer Alain de Royer-Dupre told At The Races.
Her only defeat came when she was third to Indian Ink in the Coronation Stakes at Royal Ascot on rain-softened ground.
