Tipperary monitor conditions

Officials are optimistic Thursday’s meeting at Tipperary will go ahead - although a second inspection could yet be called.

More than 50 millimetres of rain fell over the weekend but the track got the thumbs-up from the inspector of courses on Tuesday afternoon.

However, further rain is forecast overnight on Wednesday which could still threaten proceedings, with the going officially described as heavy.

“The course passed Tuesday’s inspection and at the moment it’s all systems go,” said clerk of the course Lorcan Wyer.

“But in light of rain forecast on Wednesday night into Thursday, another inspection is likely.”
