Worcester meeting abandoned
Wednesday evening's meeting at Worcester has been abandoned due to a waterlogged track.
A decision had already been taken to make the fixture a hurdles-only card as the chase course was not fit for racing.
But 20 millimetres of rain during the weekend left the situation untenable.
Worcester clerk of the course Fergus Cameron said: “Because of the weekend rain, the badly-affected areas on the track have just not recovered.
“We are improving but you are only as good as the worst areas so we have to abandon.”
The last three other summer meetings on consecutive Wednesdays were lost well in advance due to severe flooding.
