Bolger happy with brilliant Beo
Jim Bolger reports Finsceal Beo to be “very well” as she heads for more glory in the Coronation Stakes at Royal Ascot on Friday.
With champion two-year-old Teofilo yet to reappear, this season could have been something of an anti-climax for Jim Bolger.
But thanks to Finsceal Beo, the County Carlow handler has had plenty to smile about.
A ready winner of the Prix Marcel Boussac and the Rockfel Stakes as a juvenile, she has again
exceeded all expectations this term.
Bolger’s charge was a scintillating winner of the 1000 Guineas at Newmarket and went for the French equivalent seven days later, only to be beaten a head by Darjina.
But two weeks later, the Mr Greeley filly added another Guineas to her roll of honour when successful at the Curragh.
Bolger is now hoping Finsceal Beo can win a hatful of other Group Ones before heading off to the paddocks.
“She is very well and I am very happy with her. I would be hoping to make it to double digits with her in terms of Group One victories at some stage in the future,” he said.
“She has won three already so she is one third of the way there. She is very sound and her owners like to travel.
“She had a pipe-opener on Tuesday. We would prefer good ground but we can’t do anything about it.”
