Victory for Detorri at Goodwood
Frankie Detorri has had his first win of the day at Goodwood on Drifting Gold in the Empire Property Group Sprint Handicap.
The day had not been going well for Dettori until then, after he missed his first ride and was then beaten aboard the favourite Army of Angels in the feature race.
He also picked up a day suspension from the stewards for causing interference to the third horse Babba Donna aboard Army of Angels.
They've given him the 24th June off - the day after Royal Ascot.
His luck changed, however, when Dettori romped home on Clive Cox's filly, the 6/4 favourite, in the five-furlong handicap.
He fought off strong competition from Gleaming Spirit and Pretty Mist to claim his first win of the day.
