Bentley Biscuit is pleasing connections following his arrival from Australia ahead of his Royal Ascot mission.

Trained by the legendary Gai Waterhouse, Bentley Biscuit won three Grade Ones in just over a month earlier in the year, beating Takeover Target in a photo-finish on the last occasion.

And despite the rigours of flying halfway around the world, Tania Rouse, Waterhouse’s assistant trainer, says the six-year-old is absolutely thriving in his Newmarket base.

“Bentley Biscuit has settled into everything really well and is currently cantering and doing very well,” Rouse told Racenet.com.au.

“The simple fact of the matter is that I cannot get enough food into Bentley.

“All of the Australian horses cantered 1400 metres on the Bury Hill polytrack on Monday morning.

“It is a lovely canter which rises gradually for 600 metres before a sweeping right hand bend and it is a very forgiving surface.

“From what I have seen, the other Australian horses all have settled in well and looked good up the canter this morning.

“The interest has been amazing and everyone over here could not be more helpful,” Rouse said.

Waterhouse is expected to arrive in the UK next week to oversee final preparations.

Bentley Biscuit is 5-1 favourite with Bet365 for the Golden Jubilee Stakes on June 23.
