Rebel primed for Curragh Classic

Geoff Huffer revealed Cockney Rebel is likely to bid for more Classic glory in the Boylesports Irish 2000 Guineas.

Although the Stan James 2000 Guineas hero was initially ruled out of the May 26 assignment, Huffer now intends to run him at the Curragh and Royal Ascot.

“The Irish 2000 Guineas is under consideration now and the plan is to go there,” the Newmarket-based handler told the Racing Post.

“The timetable is quite good – with three weeks between Newmarket and the Curragh – and then there is another three weeks before the St James’s Palace.”
