Champion Flat jockey Ryan Moore is to have an operation on his arm on Sunday following a nasty fall at Lingfield on Friday.

Moore looks set to miss the start of the new turf season later this month after being hurt when his mount Vlasta Veiner came down after a furlong in the opening six-furlong handicap.

Moore’s agent Tony Hind said: “He goes into hospital tomorrow to have the operation.

“We will know after he has had that what the extent of the damage is, but he may have broken his elbow.”
