Four-up for Fitz
Outgoing jockey Mick Fitzgerald was in fine form at Fakenham as he booted home a 36-1 four-timer – which included a treble for his boss Nicky Henderson.
Fitzgerald started the afternoon winning the “Repeal Is The Real Deal” Beginners Chase on former smart Flat performer Dancing Bay (8-11f).
However, he was pretty fortunate as The Cool Guy had the race in the bag before coming down at the last.
He then got the leg up from Henderson on Tarotino (11-4f) in the Hunter’s Thriving EBF “National Hunt” Novices’ Hurdle.
Fitzgerald was seen to great effect on Be Telling for Tor Sturgis in the Today - Scrap The Act Handicap Chase (For The Prince Carlton Challenge Cup).
The afternoon was concluded when the hot-favourite Fiddling Again (6-5) made it two from two in the Countrysports For Countryside EBF/IDS Mares’ Only Intermediate Open Flat Race (Qualifier).
