Queen cancels Newmarket visit

Queen Elizabeth II has cancelled her planned afternoon at the races on Newmarket’s Rowley Mile on Friday due to a back strain.

Lisa Hancock, managing director of Newmarket racecourses, said: “We are obviously very disappointed that the queen will not be able to come racing tomorrow and we wish her a speedy recovery.
