Connections of the Aga Khan’s unbeaten Visionario have reported the colt to be on course for the Prix Jean Luc Lagardere – Grand Criterium at Longchamp on Sunday.
The son of Spinning World has barely come off the bridle in winning his three starts to date and won the Group Three Prix La Rochette comfortably on his last run.
He may be in line for a mouth-watering clash with Jim Bolger’s unbeaten 2000 Guineas favourite Teofilo, who is also a possible for the race, and connections admit that Sunday’s contest will present the juvenile with his stiffest test to date.
“Visionario is fine and everything is on schedule,” reported Georges Rimaud, racing manager to the Aga Kahn.
“He has been very impressive so far this season but we will see how he copes when the competition becomes a bit stronger. This will be a real test.”
Rimaud also revealed that a decision on Mandesha’s participation in the Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe is likely to be made early next week.
“We won’t know about Mandesha until the last minute,” he continued.
“She is going to work at the beginning of the week and we will probably make a decision the day after.”
