Necklace set for Curragh bid
Aidan O’Brien has forked out €30,000 to add Diamond Necklace to the field for Sunday’s Moyglare Stud Stakes at the Curragh.
The filly, who is a half-sister to Shamardal, was sixth on her debut in Leopardstown maiden last month and she could be joined by stablemate Nell Gwyn in the Group One event.
Nell Gwyn is a full-sister to top miler Rock Of Gibraltar but also finished out of the frame on her maiden debut.
Six British fillies feature among a total entry of 18 for the seven-furlong contest, headed by Queen Mary Stakes runner-up Simply Perfect.
Mick Channon’s recent Newbury winner Silca Chiave could also take her chance, with Ted Durcan having successfully applied to change the dates of a three-day suspension he picked up at Nottingham recently to allow him to ride.
The home team also includes Debutante Stakes winner Gaudeamus, Dermot Weld’s Galway winner Supposition, the Tommy Stack-trained Alexander Tango and Brazilian Bride, who finished fourth in the Group One Phoenix Stakes.
