Connections of Ouija Board have decided not to supplement their brilliant mare for Saturday’s King George VI And Queen Elizabeth Diamond Stakes at Ascot.

Having considered their options, trainer Ed Dunlop and owner Lord Derby have decided to stick to their original plan and head for the Vodafone Nassau Stakes at Goodwood on August 5.

Peter Stanley, racing manager to owner Lord Derby confirmed: “It’s full steam ahead to the Nassau.

“It was a general decision as the plan was always the Nassau and to just look at the King George on the way.

“The King George looks a pretty tough field, and this way it gives her an extra week.

“It makes sense – if something had dropped out of the King George then it would have been tempting but the top three or four in the betting look pretty solid, so we are very happy to be going for the Nassau.”

Ouija Board was last seen finishing an unlucky fifth in the Coral-Eclipse Stakes at Sandown, having previously landed the Prince Of Wales’s Stakes at Royal Ascot in June.
