Chapple-Hyam advises Bravo caution
Peter Chapple-Hyam has warned the well-backed River Bravo is not a certain starter in Saturday’s William Hill Trophy at York.
The Indian Ridge colt worked well on Tuesday in Newmarket prompting the sponsors to cut him to 13-2 from 10-1 for the six-furlong contest.
However, Chapple-Hyam is keen to see some rain before committing to a run at York.
He told www.peterchapplehyam.com: “If they don’t get rain at York then he won’t run. He needs a bit of cut over that trip. Seven furlongs on fast ground is OK for him but I think six might just see him taken off his feet.
“He is not a definite runner. If the ground is good to firm he probably won’t go.”
