Kieren Fallon suffered an injury scare at Tipperary this evening on the eve of the Stan James 2000 Guineas meeting at Newmarket.

Kieren Fallon suffered an injury scare at Tipperary this evening on the eve of the Stan James 2000 Guineas meeting at Newmarket.

The champion jockey was riding Convincing for John Joseph Murphy in the “Enjoy The Action At Tipperary As A Member” Handicap” when he hurt his foot on leaving the stalls.

The horse was pulled up when well behind and Fallon was taken to hospital.

Racecourse doctor Kevin Mulcahy said: “Kieren Fallon has an injury to his right foot and he has been taken to Limerick Regional Hospital so that the orthopaedic people can have look at him and he can have X-rays.”

Fallon is due to partner long-time favourite George Washington for Aidan O’Brien in the 2000 Guineas at Newmarket on Saturday.
