Wolverhampton call check

Officials at Wolverhampton have been forced to call a precautionary inspection for 8.30am after snow hit the track overnight.

Prestbury Park are due to stage an eight-race all-weather card from 1.50pm and clerk of the course Fergus Cameron is optimistic the meeting will be fine.

“We have called a precautionary inspection as there is one inch of snow on the track but the surface underneath is fine,” he said.

“Temperatures today are due to rise to plus four degrees with intermittent sunshine so we will continue to monitor the situation and I am optimistic we will be OK.”
