Juveigneur misses Welsh National
Juveigneur has been ruled out of next Tuesday’s Coral Welsh National at Chepstow due to injury.
The Nicky Henderson-trained eight-year-old had been as low as 12-1 for the marathon event but a problem sustained when he fell in the Becher Chase last month has resulted in him missing the race.
“He banged his knee when he came down at the first at Aintree last time and that meant he had to have a bit of a break,” said Mick Meagher, racing manager to owner Trevor Hemmings.
“He’s back cantering and working but he won’t be able to take part.
“I’m not sure where he will go next but he is a very decent handicapper and I’m sure there will be opportunities for him as soon as he’s ready.
“He will be entered in the Grand National, I’m sure, as well as a race or two at the festival.”
